You know what's weird? The freeware version of the game actually has more cheat codes than the original full (commercial) version does. In the full version of this game, you only have a single cheat code: a "Super Cheat" which gives you a submachine gun with a full 90-round magazine (or maybe it's an assault rifle/carbine) and fully stocked grenades (the standard green ones, not the incendiary - and superior - red ones). To activate it, hold down *C-A-T* all together. You can use it as often as you like with no penalty. The freeware version (which is the most commonplace one now) includes that, plus multiple Commander Keen-style cheat codes. This takes a little extra work, however. Here's how: *1.* When the game begins, hold down *C-O-D* all together, and you will be prompted to input a numerical code. Enter *91827* and press *Enter* to confirm. *2.* Now, hold down *J-I-M* all together along with the *Space Bar*, and a message will appear telling you the debug keys are active. *3.* From this point onwards until you quit the game, you can hold down *F10* followed by any of the following keys to trigger cheats which were presumably dummied out of the original full version. *B* - Change border colour from 0 to 15 - from darkest to brightest *C* - Show how many active and inactive objects are present on the current map *D* - Record a demo (or save it if recording is in progress) *E* - End the current level *G* - God mode (invincibility in layman's terms - this will not, however, protect you from bottomless pits and I think spikes as well) *I* - I call this one a "Hyper Cheat" - you get free items (no message is displayed, but you get everything in the CAT cheat code plus a full inventory's worth of keys, crystal shards, access cards and even the special key to unlock secret doors along with an extra life) *J* - Jump cheat (hold down the Jump button or key to continue ascending Commander Keen-style until you hit an obstacle or let go) *M* - Display memory usage *N* - Noclip (useful but dangerous) *P* - Pause the game (unlike pressing the actual *Pause* key, no message is displayed and the music continues playing, so it's kind of pointless) *S* - Slow motion (never really saw a need for this myself, to be honest, but I suppose it's nice if you want to play in bullet time) *T* - Sprite test (view tiles, sprites, textures and I think visual representations of soundwaves) *V* - Add or remove vertical blanking intervals (for older CRT monitors with framerate issues) *W* - Warp to a level (12 in each episode is always the boss, 13 is the high score table and 14 is the Apogee logo/intro screen - the rest are unused and will crash the game) *Y* - Show hidden messages (apparently glitches up the graphics slightly, so be careful) *Z* - Suicide cheat - kills the player if God Mode is disabled You can also use the CAT cheat to turn the normally semiautomatic plasma bolts (20 shots) into a fully-automatic 90-round plasma rifle - have fun. :)

Selaco looks perfect and plays really poorly for me. The jerky enemy movement seems untested, hit feedback maybe exists but it's hard to tell because once you pull the trigger you can't see shit. Everything in this shooting game is amazing except for the shooting part. But that's just me.

what's wrong with freespace? Freespace 2 is soo much better with all the mods.

Combat = go forward to spawn trigger retreat to chock point. Use explosives if you have them, other weapons if you don't. Repeat. The environment and levels are really neat the combat is awful, get it on a sale if you really wanna play it and haven't gotten it yet.
